Someone already had the name
The name
When we looked into the name properly, we found Nightglass was already in use. An unrelated company runs a service with that name, and it's the first thing you see when you search for it.
Finding us
The good web addresses and social media names were taken too. Searching for Nightglass didn't lead to this app at all.
The choice
So we changed it while the app was still small. Nobody made us. We wanted a name people could find, and one that wouldn't get us mixed up with someone else.
Why Moonpane
It's a moon seen through a window pane at night. That's what the new icon shows, and it suits an app about the glass in your hand.
What this means for you
- The app
- It has the same wallpapers, widget panels and icons, all made on your phone.
- The address
- Moonpane lives at moonpane.pages.dev. The old Nightglass link brings you here.
- Your Home Screen
- If you added Nightglass, delete that icon and add Moonpane instead. Your settings start fresh, because they were saved under the old address.
- Your images
- Anything you already saved stays in your photos.
